While Alicent speaks with Larys, she takes her shoes off and places her stocking-adorned feet on the table between them. He has more information, but stops himself from spilling it. Larys reveals the existence of the spies and says Alicent’s father, Otto Hightower, is aware of them. But that information comes at a price.

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) said the ad repeatedly cut to images of only men, who were both prominent and central to the ad’s message of opportunity and excellence across multiple desirable career paths.

The watchdog said it was also a well-established stereotype that women were not skilled at using technology and the sentence “We’ll do the SEO thing” was likely to be understood to mean that female “bosses” in particular needed outside help with IT matters.

They acknowledged that the “execution might unintentionally come across as sexist and demeaning to women” but said they had taken steps to rectify this by removing the word “girl” from the ad and issuing a public apology on their website.

It’s clever, allowed Queen Alicent Hightower to shine like never before, and built anticipation for next week’s big finale. One scene stuck out, though, and not necessarily in a good way. House of the Dragon’s ninth episode, called The Green Council, is among the show’s best yet.

The ASA said it was a well-established stereotype that men were more suited to positions of authority in the business world than women, and said that using the term “girl boss” implied that the gender of the person depicted was relevant to their performance in a managerial or entrepreneurial role.

If you saw episode 9 and are wondering what you hell you just watched, I’m here to tell you that it was, unfortunately, what you thought it was.  Not nasty like people-who-like-feet-are-weird nasty. It has to do with Larys Strong, who, in discomforting fashion, was revealed to have a nasty foot fetish.

A television ad for computer firm PC Specialist which featured only men and a poster ad for People Per Hour stating “You do the girl boss thing” have been banned for perpetuating harmful gender stereotypes.

The ASA said 19 people complained that the ad perpetuated harmful gender stereotypes by depicting a woman running a business in a patronising way and by implying that women were not technologically skilled.

The techies, the coders, the illustrators … From the specialists for the specialists.” The ad for PC Specialist, a manufacturer and seller of bespoke PC computers, featured three men performing different activities including producing music and coding with a male voice-over which stated: “For the players, the gamers, the ‘I’ll sleep laters’, the creators, the editors, the music makers.

Who is Larys Strong anyway? Harwin was a City Watch guard, and the real father of Jacaerys and Lucerys Targaryen, the sons Rhaenyra Targaryen claimed to have had with Laenor Velaryon. Larys Strong, also known as “the Clubfoot,” is the son of Lyonel Strong, who briefly served as Hand of the king after King Viserys sacked Otto Hightower. You’ll also remember Larys’ brother, Harwin Strong.

Later in the episode, when Erryk is escorting Rhaenys out of the Red Keep, we see a servant has been hanged, and what appears to be Mysaria’s headquarters has been lit aflame. We can’t confirm until next week, but it looks an awful lot like Larys’ handiwork.

Larys then explains that Alicent’s servant is one of the spies and indicates he could take out the spymaster if the queen wishes it. Alicent seems all too aware of what this means. To get it out of him, Alicent has to peel her stockings off and lay her bare feet on the table.

Alicent’s response to Larys — to putting her feet on the table, taking her stockings off and then finally placing her feet in full view and turning away — indicates this definitely isn’t the first transaction like this.

We’ll do the SEO thing,” referring to search engine optimisation. The poster ad for PeoplePerHour, an online platform giving businesses access to freelancers, seen on the London Underground in November, featured an image of a woman and the text: “You do the girl boss thing.

Some eight viewers complained that the ad perpetuated harmful gender stereotypes by depicting men in roles that were stereotypically male and implying that it was only men who were interested in technology and computers.

Larys revealed to Alicent that morning-after tea was sent to Rhaenyra’s quarters by Viserys — the first of many secrets he’d share with the queen. He first acquainted himself with Alicent when she was alone in the Godswood contemplating Rhaenyra’s rumored fling with Daemon. Larys has served the queen since episode 5, which means he’s been at her side for about 16 years in House of the Dragon canon.

Larys, aligning himself firmly in team Hightower, in episode 6, arranged for both his father and brother to be killed on their return to Harrenhal. The following episode, we learn Larys has since been named Lord of Harrenhal.
