This isn’t the case, though: Viserys thought he was talking to Rhaenyra. Episode 9 confirms that Alicent believes Viserys is asking her, his wife, to ensure their firstborn Prince Aegon inherits the Iron Throne — over the named heir Princess Rhaenyra.
